ABOUT SAMSTANA
The Sharnbasva University is named after Mahadasohi Sharnbasveshwara mystic saint, a seer with a vision, a savior of mankind and a divine universal teacher. He was one of the greatest humanitarians rarely found in the spiritual history of mankind. He attained divinity by living the way of life called Dasoha. His Dasoha philosophy is based on the precept-“No religion is greater than service; service to humanity service to God”. On the Samadhi of Sharnbasveshwar, we find two faces, which symbolize the “Guru Shishya Parampare”, that is the teacher and the taught growing together to excel with no difference between them. They are like two lamps but the light they emit is one. -Poojya Dr. Appaji
“The principles of Sharnbasveshwar on which the institutions are built and operated is: “No religion is greater than service and service to mankind is service to God”. It’s a beautiful thing. You serve human beings. You are serving God. It is very inspiring indeed”. -Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam
ABOUT UNIVERSITY
Sharnbasva University is the first private university in the entire North Karnataka and uniqueness of the university was the adoption of multi disciplinary approach providing avenues for the students to pursue the courses of their choice professed in the New Education Policy (NEP). The university had adopted this multi disciplinary approach well before the NEP came into force. Another feature of the university was its stress on research activities and extending quality education at affordable cost, which was the benchmark of the university. The university has set itself on the path of emerging one of the centres of excellence and a world class university, which is the dream of our esteemed Chancellor and Visionary Educationist Vidya Bhandari Poojya Dr. Sharnbaswappa Appaji. The Sharnbasva University functions under the Sharnbasveshwar Vidya Vardhak Sangha, which has the proud legacy of providing quality education to the deprived sections of the people in the educationally backward Kalyana Karnataka region for the past more than 100 years. The Sharbasaveshwar Vidya Vardak Sangha, under whose aegis the Sharnbasva University is functioning, has the honor of starting the first school exclusively for the girls way back in 1934 opening the doors of learning to the girls. The legacy of providing optimum importance to the girl education has continued to this day and the Sangha was the first to start engineering college for women in entire North Karnataka
